Development Programs
Camps, Clinics, and Seminars
Chihuahuas NeXt Develpment Programs includes a series of partnerships with Major League Baseball (MLB), National Professional Fastpitch (NPF), USA Baseball, USA Softball, and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). Through these partnerships, Chihuahuas NeXt is able to offer players from El Paso and the surrounding areas opportunities typically not available to aspiring baseball and softball players.
Not only does BYAA’s Chihuahuas NeXt program bring to El Paso MLB, NPF, and NCAA coaches and players but they also send El Paso and surrounding area players to camps, clinics, and showcases to help them on their journey to college.
In 2017, two softball players were chosen by BYAA’s Chihuahuas NeXt staff to apply for the Elite Development Invitational. Brenna, from Chapin High School, and Nadia, from Hanks High School, were accepted to participate in the Elite Development Invitational. They were 2 of 90 young ladies across the USA chosen to participate.

Compliance Seminar
Other programs held for area youth include camps, clinics, and development series. Every year BYAA brings in scouts, coaches, and compliance directors to provide a free Compliance Seminar for student-athletes wanting to play college level athletics. In January of 2018, BYAA brought in Lindsey Webster, a former Compliance Director from Cal State University- Northridge and UMASS player, to bring excitement to this seminar. At the seminar, compliance directors speak of what GPA and courses are needed to enter the school as a student-athlete as well as what scores on SAT’s and ACT’s are needed. Along with Lindsey Webster, BYAA brought some other very impactful and knowledgeable people including Rusty Gerhardt (current Major League Baseball Scout, former professional and college player, ), Nick Theodoreau (former Division I player and LA Dodgers player), Brian Green (current NMSU head coach and former player), and Sara Plourde (current Canadian National Team Player, NPF Player, and former UMASS player).
